Martial Arts Research Initiative for Experts : MARIE

○ Objective : To encourage research on martial arts by young researchers (Pursuant to article 6, paragraph 1 of the agreement on the establishment of the ICM) and develop a network of martial arts experts

○ Period : 2018 July 2nd to August 20th

○ Particiapnts : 9 martial arts instructors from 9 countries (Korea, Nepal, Laos, Bhrain, Vietnam, Belize, Uzbekistan and Krygyzstan)

○ Description

   - Theoretical learning for capacity building

   - Practice training sessions for Taekkyeon, Yongmudo and Muay Thai

   - Computer lessons including PowerPoint tutorials and presentation skills

   - Field trips to historical sites and hands-on cultural activities

   - Report assignment on the topic of one's choice

○ Coordination and partnership
