Evaluation Framework for Youth Development through Martial Arts
This project is to collect examples of martial arts education for youth development and participation and establish standards for martial arts education based on the evaluation framework for youth development through martial arts. The 2017 framework project was conducted in collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok and the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur(IFMA). The project team develops the evaluation framework for youth development through martial arts with experts in the field and conducts case studies of excellent martial arts education in four different countries. The result of the research will be published as "Good Practice Guide"on martial arts education. The project also reflects various guidelines on physical education suggested by UNESCO as principles of the Kazan Action Plan adopted by the 6th International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sports(MINEPS) in July this year in Kazan, Russia a) implementing measurable projects, b) regarding sports as an enable or sustainable development, and c) strengthening the role of the youth in decision-making processes. Published for martial arts leaders and policy makers around the world, this framework will serve as a guide to promoting youth development and social participation through martial arts.
