International Martial Arts Festival was held in Uzbekistan Ferghana from July 27 to 29. Thousands of martial artists from 30 international and 10 national organizations participated and this has opened a new page for martial arts. The festival, which was enriched with spiritual-enlightenment events and gala concerts for 3 days, was highly appreciated by the sports community and guests. These kinds of festivals will be a great force in the world to keep peace through sports and to unite young people in a noble cause.

There are many kinds of sports in the world. Each of them is born into a tradition of traditions of any state. These sports are distinguished by their attractive movements and other types of sport. There are many kinds of sports and athletes. Such events are the reason for the establishment and strengthening of friendly relations between athletes and countries. Nothing can make the country famous like the sports world quickly. One of the most popular sports festivals nationwide is the World Martial Arts Festival, initiated by WoMAU. Year after year, this festival is becoming a favorite sports festival for many sports people and sports fans.

The “Uzbek Jang Sanati”, which is considered to be a modern manifestation of the martial arts of Amir Temur and the great warrior and statesman, was established in September 2009 and soon became a member of many influential international sports organizations. One of them is WoMAU, which was registered in December 2009. Then, every 2 years, she has become a participant in the World Festival of Martial Arts, and has attracted fans. At the festivals held in 2015 and 2017 and attended by more than 40 countries, the “Uzbek Jang Sanati” became the winner of the Grand Prize and the Grand Prix with their performance. In 2017, at the International Assembly of Martial Arts held in Chungju, South Korea, it was decided that in 2018 the International Martial Arts Festival will be held in Uzbekistan by the “Uzbek Jang Sanati” Federation of Uzbekistan.

After long preparations, the 1st international martial arts festival was launched in Ferghana on July 27-29, 2018. This sporting event, which involved about 30 countries and national sports of about 10 countries and attracted thousands of athletes, has opened a new page in the martial arts. The festival, which was enriched with spiritual-enlightenment events and gala concerts for 3 days, was highly appreciated by the sports community and guests.

On July 27, the 17th General Assembly of the World Martial Arts Union was held. It was attended by representatives of 26 member states of the organizations. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Margilan city administration of Fergana region, Chungju city administration of South Korea, Taekwondo Association and “Uzbek Jang Sanati” federation.

The participants of the festival were representative of the Korea Ssireum Federation, representative of the World Thang-Ta Federation, representative of the Federation of Russian Martial Arts “Buza”, representative of Latvia and Czech Rep. federation of “Kolo” the jury was composed.

According to the results of the festival, according to the invitation and agreement made by the jury and organizers, the festival was solemnly handed over to all participants of the festival with medals, diplomas and souvenirs from the Ferghana regional administration.

At the closing ceremony, representatives of all guest countries, members of the WoMAU, members of the World Martial Arts Academy (South Korea, Chungju city) and the organizers took part in the closing ceremony. They were also given souvenirs with national craftsmanship. The festival was chaired by the Chairman of the World Martial Arts Union Chung Wha Tae and the Deputy Governor of Fergana Region I.Nosirov.

1st International Martial Arts Festival, a large number of sportsmen from Uzbekistan and martial arts professionals have had the opportunity to see such a prestigious sporting event in their homeland. This gave a special motivation and impression to the athletes. I believe that in future WoMAU initiatives will be the same for athletes who cannot participate if festivals of this kind throughout the world are held regularly every year in partnership with different countries. It will be a great force in the world to keep peace through sports and to unite young people in a noble cause.
