UNESCO ICM announced the winners of the International Martial Arts Photo Contest held in October under the theme of “Martial (武)" and "Arts (藝).” 38 photographs out of total 731 photographs were selected through in-depth deliberation by field experts and professors. Grand prize went to “The art of self-defense.” One gold, two silver, eight bronze, and 26 photographs were selected as winners for the contest. Winners and their winning works can be seen on the official website for the photo contest. The Grand Prize went to photographer Sudip Maiti for “The art of self-defense.” The photo contains two children training martial arts on the street and their peers watching them from inside. "The art of self-defense" received a high score for expressing the values of youth practicing martial arts. The Gold Prize was won by photographer Avijit Ghosh with “Street Wrestling" which shows Indian street wrestling. Silver Prizes went to “Sensei and Student" by Forte Joel and “capoeira eMotion" by Annika Kreykenbohm. Eight photos won the Bronze Prize and 26 won the selection prize for Fine Works. This contest was aimed to make martial arts and photography enthusiasts around the world to take a leading role in sharing the value and importance of martial arts for peace and development through photography. |
