ICM is hosting the 3rd International Youth Martial Arts Camp for 6 days and 7 nights, on 15(THU)-21(WED) August.

Participants are youth between the age of 15 and 18, who have learnt martial arts, or martial arts in events that have been inscribed on the list of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; These include traditional wrestling(Bukh) from Mongolia, Capoeira from Brazil, Kuresi from Kazakhstan, Oil Wrestling from Turkey, Ssireum and Taekkyun from Korea.

During the camp, youth from five countries will take part in learning the martial arts inscribed on UNESCO’s list, and classes about the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), especially SDG 3(Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4(Quality Education).

The students will also visit APCEIU(Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding under the auspices of UNESCO) to learn about GCED(Global Citizenship Education), and ICHCAP(International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO) to learn how martial arts, including Ssierum have been inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Humanity.

Through the camp, ICM aims to increase youth social engagement by utilizing martial arts, and provide opportunities for youth from all over the world to meet and interact.
