This report explores the martial arts practiced in four Southeast Asian countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore - and provides indepth knowledge on indigenous martial arts including Silat and Pencak silat, which have been recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. To support reader understanding, it also includes a variety of materials such as pictures of martial arts techniques and moves demonstrations as well as interviews with martial arts experts and relevant organizations. The publication of the report holds particular significance in the sense that the project was conducted by ICM in partnership with Universiti Teknologi MARA serving as a central hub and global martial arts scholars and experts.
