I would like to express my sincere gratitude and warmly welcome those visiting ICM's website.

Established on the 19th of December, 2016 under the 'Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) regarding the International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2),' ICM is the third UNESCO Category 2 centre within Korea.

Martial Arts, developed alongside mankind's advancement, possesses not only cultural value but is also valuable as an educational tool for youth. Its preservation is necessary as it aids individuals in finding solutions to pressing issues facing our societies, such as overcoming inequality and embracing different cultures.

Building on the value of martial arts, the Centre has studied and operated diverse programmes to enhance competencies and encourage social engagement of the global youth by providing training and education involving martial arts philosophies, cultural values and techniques. In addition, ICM aims to achieve gender equality by fostering the participating of young girls and women in martial arts activities.

ICM will continue to pursue the protection of cultural diversity, expand the culture of peace and non-violence, and strive for the inclusive development and participation of youth and women, all of which are pursued by UNESCO.

Lastly, I convey my sincere gratitude for your interest in and support for ICM.
