In the 5th MAOS which was held across five countries, 352 participants received unique martial arts training three to five times a week. It is meaningful that this year?s MAOS was held face-to-face even at the height of the pandemic by strictly following COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Two African countries participated this year and MAOS fulNorth-South Cooperation In 2021, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) raised Korea?s status from a developing economy to a developed economy. This was the first time the UN agency has upgraded a member state's development status since its establishment in 1964. Therefore, Korea is expected to continue expanding its role and contribution to the international community as a bridge that connects developed countries and developing countries. ICM promotes equal opportunity for the youth and women in countries with a lack of access to martial arts and physical activities by holding the Martial Arts Open School (MAOS). It also supports African martial arts that deserve more attention by convening the African Martial Arts Conference.
